Many visitors, more than 150 contacts, most of them from abroad, visited Techno System’s stand, asked for product information and more details.
The Certaldo-based company, which produces plate heat exchangers and is the only one completely made in Italy, returned to the Mce Expo Comfort exhibition in Milan, from 12 to 15 March. And the results are positive.
In Hall 3, Stand N 59, on the walls of the stand there was a large photo of the new test room inaugurated last year and an overview of Certaldo, where Techno System has its headquarters. And then of course the heat exchangers, plates, wall and base substations, pasteurisers, special models for food applications, the legionella heat treatment module and the new module for recovering heat from hot waste water.
It is within Techno System that two new modules are born, the first and only ones in Italy, studied, tested and certified. First and foremost, the MDI, which uses a plate heat exchanger to raise the temperature for the time needed in the systems to permanently eradicate legionella. The module is a plug-and-play pre-assembled for the instantaneous production of domestic hot water that can be programmed, as mentioned, for thermal disinfection of legionella bacteria. It is already registered on the Ministry of Health Portal as a medical device (class 1) with the stamp for the prevention of infectious diseases.
All tests and experiments were carried out in a Rsa in the Ausl Centro area in Tuscany. The results showed that the legionella bacterium can be killed by heat. MDI is the first device of its kind to carry the Ministry of Health stamp. It is a flexible and targeted tool that can avoid the use of chemical agents such as chlorine or hydrogen peroxide with all the risks involved. According to Techno System, the first users of these modules should be public or private health authorities as they would solve the problem of legionella and save energy as they would not have to throw away large quantities of hot water and then replenish it with cold water to be heated. Then there are all residences for the aged, all hospitality facilities such as hotels, tourist and accommodation structures in general as well as sports facilities that all have hot water distribution systems to be kept legionella-free. To thank the RSA where the experiment was carried out Techno System decided to donate the module used.
The MRP module, on the other hand, cuts energy consumption in swimming pools, but also in laundries, because it is able to recover up to 90 per cent of the thermal energy contained in the hot waste water for replacement, heat that would otherwise be lost.
Here again, we are talking about a plug-and-play pre-assembly.The hot water that would otherwise have to be discarded can be used to recover heat from it to heat the cold incoming water.Techno System has applied for a patent and the product is currently ‘Patent pending’.There is no system in Italy so specifically designed, tested and effective to achieve such results. It can also be used in sectors such as tanneries, the food industry, paper mills and wherever there are hot liquids that must be discharged and replenished with cold ones.
